Transforming Your Energy

All this talk about positive thinking and personal empowerment. What good is this when someone dear to me, or I am suffering and dealing with challenging circumstances? How can I imagine that I’m feeling positive when inside I feel broken, discouraged, mistreated, or lost?

To begin, I feel it would be helpful to clarify what transforming your energy is not.

It is not denying your feelings or judging yourself or others when you are in lower vibrations.

It is not thinking or feeling you should be experiencing high flying positive emotions when you are in a very negative state, or in emotional pain or discomfort.

It is not thinking that when you do start to raise your vibration that this is something that you will forever maintain and never slip back into lower energies.

It is not feeling you are abandoning those you love or feeling guilty when you are in a state of love and joy, despite the pain and suffering that may be going on around you.

It is however, taking ownership of your thoughts and feelings, regardless of who or what may have caused them, and knowing that you have the ability to raise your vibration on any subject. No one has the Power to Think in your Mind and when you know and understand this, you have already started the process of transforming your energy.

Reframing

In my book Everyday Magic I share many techniques I have used to raise vibration and one of them is called Reframing. It’s finding a way to get yourself to feel differently about the subject you are struggling with and begin to create new thought patterns which will create new emotions. The following is an example of a Reframing Statement that will begin to shift your energy in a more positive direction. It’s pretty general and can be adjusted to apply to many different scenarios and your particular faith.

“I go forward from this experience knowing I can trust myself and my Higher Power. I honor my feelings and give myself permission to experience them. I let them freely flow through my being, not hanging on too tightly and not resisting them. I remain open and receptive to any healing, guidance, or insights that are being revealed to me through this experience. I am ready to transform any feelings of blame, victimization, judgement, fear, guilt, or any other negative emotions that may be interfering with my wellbeing. Many new desires were born from this experience, and I now choose to line my energy up with them. I am worthy of my heart’s desires and attracting experiences and people that reflect that back to me. I am in the process of transforming my energy, and I am loving and patient with myself as I go through this. New ways of thinking and feeling are revealed to me, and new doors are opening for me. I’m starting to feel better about my future.”

Proclaiming something like this out loud will get the process started. Transforming energy is an art and a skill, it is something you develop over time, and your understanding of it will continue to evolve as you practice these principles. It’s basically finding a way to release resistance and guide your thoughts and emotions in a positive uplifting direction. It does take time and effort, but the rewards are well worth it. First, you start feeling more hopeful, optimistic, and content, and as you raise your vibration you will have access to more positive thoughts and begin to attract more positive experiences into your life. It’s like moving up a ladder. You typically will not go from a very negative state to complete Joy instantaneously, but you will begin to take your power back and that is the first step.
